SV MUSEUM
ABOUT
Walk through the history of GOD
The Sri Venkateswara Museum functions as a centre for preservation, interpretation, and dissemination of the cultural heritage of Tirumala–Tirupati. The museum safeguards invaluable artefacts connected with temple worship, Vaishnava philosophy, and South Indian artistic traditions.
Tirumala has been a prominent spiritual center for over a millennium, receiving patronage from the Pallavas, Cholas, Pandyas, Hoysalas, Vijayanagara rulers, Nayakas, and later dynasties . Each era contributed to temple expansion, ritual enrichment, and artistic excellence.
Through systematic documentation, scholarly research, and public education, the museum bridges the gap between ancient traditions and contemporary audiences.
The Sri Venkateswara Museum was established to systematically preserve this accumulated legacy—ranging from inscriptions and sculptures to ritual vessels and temple architecture—ensuring that the historical continuity of Lord Venkateswara’s worship is understood in its full cultural context.
