Sculpture Bronze
GALLERY
Welcome to the SV Gallery
This gallery showcases a unique collection of images of Gods and Goddesses, representing mythological, epic, and divine personalities, all cast in bronze using the traditional lost-wax method. In this ancient technique, a wax model is first sculpted, then coated with layers of clay. The wax is melted out ("de-waxed") and molten metal is poured into the mold, creating a precise bronze replica of the original wax image.
These exquisite bronze sculptures highlight the iconography, iconometry, postures, ayudhas (weapons), and ornaments as described in the Silpa Sastras and Agama Sastras. They are a testament to the artistic excellence and technical mastery of expert artisans from various historical periods.
The bronze images on display were also used in various Archanas (ritual worship ceremonies) and Utsavas (festivals and processions), playing a central role in temple rituals and devotional events.
